Our Leadership

We are excited to announce that Heather Brooks will serve as the Executive Director of LSL. Heather has a wealth of experience in educational administration and was recognized statewide as the 2023 Louisiana State Elementary Principal of the Year for her exceptional leadership and measurable impact on student achievement.

She is a former elementary principal who is a graduate of the Louisiana Superintendent’s Academy (Cohort 6), and a 2023 inductee into the Southern Arkansas University Educational Leadership Hall of Fame. Both honors reflect her impact as a school leader.

As principal, Heather led schools through challenging times while driving gains in early literacy, school performance scores, and LEAP achievement. Her work today focuses on building school success through strategic teacher coaching and leadership development that strengthens instruction and improves outcomes for students.
